(Olympia, WA) -- Washington Governor Jay Inslee is naming Steve Hobbs as Secretary of State. He'll replace Kim Wyman who is resigning to take a job with the Biden Administration as election security lead for the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity agency. Inslee says Hobbs has a strong national security perspective from his work in the Army and National Guard. He'll be appointed to the position on November 22nd. He'll also run for the office in a statewide special election in November 2022 to decide who will complete the last two years of the secretary of state's term.
