Franklin County Prosecutor announces candidacy for Superior Court Judge

Franklin County Prosecutor Shawn Sant announced Monday that he'll run for the position of Superior Court Judge.

Current Judge Bruce Spanner announced earlier this year that he does not plan to seek re-election, and will retire once his current term expires.

Sant has served as prosecuting attorney for Franklin County since 2011, managing civil, juvenile, and child support divisions, in addition to prosecuting some of the most high-profile criminal cases that have made their way through the county's system.

He started his career in law enforcement, working as Reserve Police Officer with the Richland Police Department, and a full-time officer in Prosser, after serving in the U. S. Air Force.
