Roughly 120-thousand Washingtonians are set to lose their federal unemployment benefits next week when the federal pandemic unemployment program expires. Jobless residents will receive their final unemployment payment next week. Governor Jay Inslee's office reiterated yesterday that the state will not be stepping in to replace the expiring benefits with state funding. Inslee says the state doesn't have enough American Rescue Plan funding left to cover more than a few weeks of benefits and will instead support the unemployed by helping them return to work.
