Deputies say crime scene shows evidence that Franklin County woman is no longer alive
Investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office say a woman who was reported missing last week is likely no longer alive.
"The crime scene is telling us there was some sort of violent encounter that took place, and she probably did not walk out of there of her own volition," said Sheriff Jim Raymond.
Deputies are focused on finding Estela Torres-Rodriguez's son and estranged husband, believing that the men had something to do with the disappearance.
Rodriguez shared a home on Orchard Avenue with her son, Clemente Rodriguez Torres and his girlfriend.
It's believed that Torres and Rodriguez's estranged husband, Tiburcio Larios Rodriguez, may have placed the woman's body in her car, then left the area, discarding the vehicle somewhere between northern Franklin County and Yakima County.
Sheriff Raymond believes the men may be hiding out in the Prosser area.
"We need to locate her and the car, and of course we need to locate the two bad guys and get them arrested," he said. "We have the state crime lab is down processing the different crime scenes, and soon we'll be in front of a judge requesting arrest warrants for the two."
The car is a white 2006 Buick Rendevous SUV, with Washington License Plate BMG1666.
Investigators believe both men are now clean-shaven in an effort to disguise their identities.
Anyone with information about the men's whereabouts is asked to contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 509-545-3501 or non-emergency dispatch at 509-628-0333.
