Deadly crash causes fire near Ellensburg
One person is dead and three others hurt following a crash that caused a wildfire south of Ellensburg.
Washington State Patrol says the crash involved one car and happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday. They say the driver drifted and tried to over correct, which caused the car to roll off the road and catch fire.
One of the passengers, not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out and died. The three others were taken to the hospital. Charges are pending in the crash.
Deputies shut down I-82 in both directions for a few hours to investigate. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to a small area.
