Following a string of vandalism at the Veterans Memorial in West Richland, a Boy Scout put up a wrought iron fence and sidewalk around the area.

The city posted on its Facebook that all the work at Flat Top Park was led by Caden Slade, from Boy Scout Troop 237 and he was helped by volunteers. The project was paid for by donors.

The Veterans Memorial has been vandalize several times over the past years. This year in March someone put several dents in a helmet at the display. Back in 2014, both the boots and helmet were broken off of the display.
