(Moses Lake, WA) -- A battery technology company coming to Moses Lake. California-based Sila recently purchased a 600.000 square foot facility it will use to produce battery materials for electric vehicles. In a press release, CEO Gene Berdichevsky said that while the factory will all also produce batteries for consumer electronics his company has been working to bring its battery chemistry to electric vehicles for over ten years.

The news comes after the Biden Administration's announcement of $3.1 billion available in funding toward election battery production. The company says the facility on 3741 Road N NE should bring hundreds of jobs to the area. Production is slated to begin in 2024.
