Several racers plan to be at Columbia Cup this weekend
Several of the favorite racers will be out at the Columbia Cup this year, including the champion over the last few seasons, Jimmy Shane. Newsradio610KONA will be broadcasting all the action starting Friday morning.
J. Michael Kelly in the U-5 Graham Trucking, Brian Perkins in the U-21 PayneWest Insurance and rookie Andrew Tate in the U-9 Les Schwab and Jimmy King in the U-3 piston-powered Allison engine team sponsored by Griggs presents Miss Ace Hardware will also be racing.
Qualifying and testing begin Friday, July 29 at 8:15 a.m. More qualifying and testing plus the first set of preliminary heats will run Saturday with the remaining heats and the winner-take-all championship final on Sunday.
Newsradio 610 KONA AM will be broadcasting all the action live from 9 a.m. Friday until the checkered flag falls on Sunday.
