Kennewick police search for people using fireworks and believed to have caused a fire

Police search for several people believed to have set off fireworks in Kennewick and caused a fence to catch fire.

Officers say Tuesday a homeowner off of the 600 block of South Dayton Street, noticed her fence on fire after hearing popping noises coming from the backyard. Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but the fence is damaged.

Police say after talking to witnesses they learned several people were believed to be setting off fireworks on the dike behind the property Monday night. If you have any information in regards to the suspicious fire, you are asked to call police.
