TOPPENISH, Wash.-- Toppenish Police are asking for the public's help locating a man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting that happened earlier this month.

According to a press release, shots were fired from a white BMW as it drove down North Elm Street in the City of Toppenish at about 9:45 p.m. on April 16, 2020.

At least one bullet hit a 50-year old Hispanic male in the torso, before the victim ran away to avoid getting hit again.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was later released and is still recovering.

As police investigated the shooting, they learned that the victim had argued with a woman about money she owed him. That woman was a friend of Rodolfo "Rudy" Tijerina, 38, and believe Tijerina may have fired the gun.

The white BMW connected to the shooting was found abandoned, and was impounded by Toppenish Police at 509-865-4355, or Yakima County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-248-9980.
