Now that the city council has formally lifted the moratorium on retail pot, where could potential stores land?

A few months ago, we reported the Liquor Control and Cannabis Board wants to dispense licenses based on social equity.

Following requests from the LCB dating back to 2020, now the board will begin awarding pot store licenses to "qualified" social equity applicants.

Now that the bill didn't pass, the Liquor Control Board is considering creating the program anyway, by making rule changes.

On one hand, supporters say they have a petition or letter of support signed by a number of businesses.
