
Man injured in Richland shooting
RICHLAND, Wash.-- One man was injured, and one man is in custody in connection with an early morning shooting Sunday in Richland.
According to Captain Drew Florence with the Richland Police Department, officers were responding to a report of a possible car prowler at around 2:40 a.m., when dispatchers received additional calls about a loud popping noise in the area of Comstock and Armistead.
Officers arrived to find an adult male in the road, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Investigators aren't releasing details of what led up to the shooting, but say Jonathan Scott Ard, 28, is in custody on assault and weapons charges in connection with the shooting.
The victim's injuries are not life threatening.
There is no danger to the public.
