$5K Reward for Leads in Violent Killing of 2 Dogs on Whidbey Island
The Island County, WA Sheriff's Office (ICSO) is seeking leads into the brutal murder of 2 family dogs recently, and $5,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to the apprehension of the suspect(s). Regional animal officials say it's one of the most shocking animal cruelty crimes they've seen.
Many forms of animal cruelty in WA are now felonies
Island County is west of Seattle, and is made up of 9 islands, including Camano, and Whidbey Island. It's the only county that's made up entirely of islands.
The ICSO is reporting the search is on for the suspect(s) in the shocking killing of two family dogs, named Baretta and Kimber. The two dogs, who wore ID collars, got out of their family's yard sometime on November 19th. The dogs' remains were recently found on Whidbey Island near Dugualla State Park
Deputies did not go into detail but said it was obvious the dogs had been killed in a very "violent" manner, they'd been slain elsewhere and then dumped near the park. The ICSO says their collars had been removed.
The killings took place sometime between November 19th and 24th, and now the search continues for the suspect(s).
The ICSO says anyone with any information can report it anonymously, for more on this incident, click here.
