Bicyclist killed in Hermiston crash with semi truck

Hermiston Police Department are investigating a deadly accident that happened last night between a bicyclist and a semi truck.

Police say they were called to Highway 395 near East Elm Avenue Monday night where a semi driver who was making a right-hand turn off of the highway and onto Elm, hit a 55-year old Hermiston man.

The truck's driver didn't stop, but Oregon State Police stopped the truck near the Washington border on Highway 730.

The truck driver was taken back to the Hermiston Police Department to make a statement. The bicyclist was pronounced dead on scene and officers are now going through surveillance video, in which the crash was partially captured.

Hermiston's Police Chief says it is too early to speculate about all the factors of the crash.
