New roundabout complete in Benton City
A new roundabout, Washington State DOT officials hoping to improved the commute time and safety in Benton City, is complete.
Moe Davair with Washington State Department of Transportation says it is open to drivers but there is still some additional overnight paving to be done and clean-up. He says they have planned paving overnight Friday and Saturday for the roundabout and the new park-and-ride.
"By far a huge improvement in that area, that intersection of SR-224, SR-225, there is no sitting out there waiting for 5-10 minutes that I heard people had to do prior to the construction of the roundabout," says Davair.
A ribbon cutting for the project is set to be held Monday at the new park-and-ride which is also part of the I-82 Red Mountain Transportation Improvements.
