A wanted felon could face more charges after a three hour standoff with Yakima Police.

Yakima police say the Violent Crimes Task Force had been searching for the suspect and when he was confronted outside a Yakima home around 3 p.m. Wednesday, he ran inside. Due to the suspect possibly having a weapon, the SWAT team was called to the area and Nob Hill Boulevard was blocked off to drivers.

Yakima PIO Mike Bastinelli says during the 3 1/2 hour stand-off the department tried several methods to get the man to come out of the home, which was converted into three apartments. Officers also tried using flash bangs and tear gas to get the man to come out. Bastinelli says officers finally entered the home and using thermal technology determined the man was hiding in the attic.

Once officers threatened to send in K-9's, the man surrendered without incident. He originally faced charges for felon in possession of a firearm and now he could face several more charges.

The investigation is on-going.
