In a tearful speech on the Washington House floor, Senator Maureen Walsh remembered Gina Grant Bull of Walla Walla, who died in October at the age of 57.

Walsh sponsored a resolution to remember Bull and her legacy, with every Representative in the House agreeing to co-sponsor it. The resolution passed in both the House and the Senate.

"You know you just meet some great people in life and when they are taken from you at an early age, it hurts so much. But when they are that young and are able to leave a legecy behind like Gina has I think it is something we should note and something we should honor," says Walsh.

Gina Bull served as a legislative assistant before becoming the Page Program supervisor. Her father Bill Grant, served as the Walla Walla Democrat who represented the 16th District in the state House of Representatives from 1986 to 2009.

Walsh is also sponsoring a bill which creates the Gina Grant Bull Memorial Legislative Scholarship Program to help student who would like to take part in the Legislature’s page program. The program is something Bull was working on before she past away. It will provide financial assistance to students who take part in the page program, helping with housing, uniforms and other needs.

Walsh suffered from a massive cerebral hemorrhage on October 12th and past away.
