Six Hanford workers at the Plutonium Finishing Plant went to the site’s medical clinic Tuesday after smelling odors during repacking of a waste drum.

According to DOE Spokesman Mark Heeter, staff evaluated the employees and returned them to work without restrictions.

“The six workers were wearing respiratory protection for their task, and those repacking the drum were wearing appropriate respiratory protection for that job. Monitoring in the area showed workers were never at risk," said Heeter in a statement.
