KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Police in Kennewick are investigating a shooting that happened when a resident confronted a group of people suspected of prowling cars.

According to a press release from the Kennewick Police Department, officers responded to the 400 block of S. Rainier St. at about 1:00am Thursday, where the victim told officers they had confronted as many as four people who were prowling vehicles in the area.

Two of the subjects reportedly shot at the victim then fled.

The victim was not hurt.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Kennewick Police by call dispatch at 509-628-0333 and refer to case number 20-31299.
