Scooteney Reservoir closed by algae bloom

TRI-CITIES, Wash- The Benton-Franklin Health District has ordered the Scooteney Reservoir closed, until further notice, because of a toxic algae bloom.

The recreational area between Mesa and Othello along Highway-17 registered elevated levels of Micro-Sis-Ten, which can be dangerous to small children and animals.
