RICHLAND, Wash.-- Last year the city of Richland Parks and Recreation Department held several Pop-Up Play Days in coordination with the National Parks Department.

They had planned to do the same thing this year, but with social distancing restrictions they've had to go virtual.

"We will upload a ten minute Ranger program. And then there will be complimentary indoor activities that go along with the Ranger program, and outdoor activities," said Beck Burghart, Hanford Site Manager for the National Park Service. "So, we're still encouraging families to get out to their parks like they did last year, but as family units."

There will be six different activities to download. Students can download each activity and record it in their Ranger passport, and earn a badge or pin for completing the activities.

The programs will be available on the city's "Virtual Recreation Center" website starting Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
