Jay Inslee is leading the Washington Governor race, despite his poor performance review by lobbyist according to a new Elway poll.

Stuart Elway says Inslee is leading by 48% to Bill Bryant's 36% which is up from a similar poll done in January.

“One of the things I think I’m seeing here, in this current poll is that the party lines are hardening earlier than they usually do, typically in Washington state people will consider themselves independents [until closer to the election],” says Elway.

In a previous poll, lobbyist in Washington gave Inslee poor marks in his job performance over the past four years, but those numbers are not reflected in this poll.

He says Bryant is not well known, but is gaining voters who do not want Inslee in office. Elway says the race is still fluid and expecting the numbers to change closer to the election.

In the same poll, numbers show Patty Murray is leading the US Senate race with 50% of the vote, making it harder for challenger Chris Vance.

“There are not enough undecideds for him to pick up the win, so he now has to take votes away from Patty Murray,” says Elway.

Stuart Elway says Murray's lead at this point, is similar to the elections 6-years ago against Dino Rossi.
