We will have the chance to view the first eclipse to span coast-to-coast in the U.S. since 1918 in one week. Oregon is expected to see about a million more people in the state around Aug. 19th through the next week and traffic is expected to reflect those numbers from the coast to John Day. If you plan to stay in the Tri-Cities or around the southeastern Washington region, you're still going to see 96% totality or a bit more or a bit less.

Tri-Cities
Total Eclipse at the Port: Aug. 21, 2017, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Port of Pasco, 1110 Osprey Pointe Blvd., Pasco, WA 99301, Free Solar Eclipse glasses, Children's activities, music, entertainment, and bring a chair.

CBC for Solar Eclipse: Aug. 21, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. free event on the CBC Pasco campus, 800 pairs of special glasses to view the eclipse and solar telescopes will be available for viewing the event at the observatory.  Meanwhile, the planetarium will provide a livestream from NASA over the Internet from telescopes in the path of totality.  In addition, a program about eclipses will be run in the planetarium theater every half hour.

Kids Solar Eclipse Block Party: Mid-Columbia Kennewick Library August 21, 2017, 10:00am to 11:00am, Audience: Kids 0-5, Come enjoy a special Solar Eclipse storytime, featuring Block Party, and celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Challenge. Special glasses will be provided.

Richland Solar Eclipse Viewing: John Dam Plaza Richland Library hosting: If you have received eclipse glasses at programs earlier in the summer, please bring them.  We will have a limited number of eclipse glasses to give out. It will not be safe to view the eclipse with the naked eye.  We will have both active and crafty activities to keep the kids busy while the moon slowly covers the sun during the day.

Pasco Solar Eclipse Indoor Viewing Party: Monday morning Aug. 21, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at Police and Community Services Building at 215 W. Sylvester Street.

CURIE STEM ELEMENTARY HOSTING SOLAR ECLIPSE EVENT: Pasco students are invited to visit Curie STEM Elementary on Monday, Aug. 21 for a solar eclipse viewing event from 9:45-11:00 a.m. Teachers will share a short presentation with students about the science behind a solar eclipse, and other activities are also planned. The school will have NASA-approved solar eclipse viewing glasses available for the students to use.

Walla Walla

Family Friendly Solar Eclipse Viewing: Monday, August 21 at 9 AM - 12 PM, Walla Walla Children's Museum: Join us for a celebration with hands-on activities and viewing of the solar eclipse! Museum opens early at 9:00 am. Viewing starts at 9:30 am. Free Admission until noon

Moses Lake/Northeastern Washington

Eclipse at Moses Lake Public Library: Aug. 21st 100 eclipse-safe glasses to hand out for the event. The library will also have a laptop set up to watch the eclipse inside, and will be giving out Moon Pies and Starbursts as treats. (Events also at Wenatchee, Cashmere, George, Grand Coulee Libraries)

Umatilla
