Pasco School District offering graduation

PASCO, Wash.-- On Tuesday, the Pasco School District released a scheduled for 2020 graduates to memorialize their high school celebration.

The district had hoped to reschedule public graduation ceremonies once social distancing restrictions were lifted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, now that July is nearly half over, it seems unlikely that local health officials will be able to lift restrictions on large gatherings.

The district has scheduled opportunities for seniors at Chiawana and Pasco High to walk across the stage at Edgar Brown Stadium and take photos with a small group of family members on July 28-30. Students have been assigned two potential time slots based on the student's last name:

Chiawana - July 28:

3:30-4:30 p.m.: Seniors A-D
4:30-5:30 p.m.: Seniors E-L
5:30-6:30 p.m.: Seniors M-R
6:30-7:30 p.m.: Seniors S-Z

Chiawana – July 29:

8:00-9:00 a.m.: Seniors A-D
9:00-10:00 a.m.: Seniors E-L
10:00-11:00 a.m.: Seniors M-R
11:00 am.-12:00 p.m.: Seniors S-Z

Pasco High - July 29:

3:30-4:30 p.m.: Seniors A-D
4:30-5:30 p.m.: Seniors E-L
5:30-6:30 p.m.: Seniors M-R
6:30-7:30 p.m.: Seniors S-Z

Pasco High – July 30:

8:00-9:00 a.m.: Seniors A-D
9:00-10:00 a.m.: Seniors E-L
10:00-11:00 a.m.: Seniors M-R
11:00 am.-12:00 p.m.: Seniors S-Z

New Horizons High School plans to host a “drive-thru” graduation celebration on July 30-31. NHHS graduates may attend the drive-thru event with a small group of family members from their household and will have the opportunity to receive their diploma cover and take pictures in front of the New Horizons sign.

Students have been assigned two potential time slots; and times are scheduled based on seniors’ last name. The schedule is as follows:
