One in custody after lengthy stand-off in West Richland
WEST RICHLAND, Wash.-- A man was arrested in West Richland on domestic violence charges following an hours-long stand-off that started Thursday night.
According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 45th and Everett off of Bombing Range Road just before 10:00 p.m. Thursday night.
Investigators say the suspect had fired several shots into his girlfriend's unoccupied car, then barricaded himself inside a nearby home.
SWAT officers were called out to the scene and negotiations continued through the night. The suspect, identified as Sidney Porter, 30, was taken into custody just after 4:00 a.m.
He's expected to face several charges, including Domestic Violence and 2nd Malicious Mischief.
