One person died after being taken to a Prosser hospital with several gunshot wounds early Sunday morning.

According to a press release from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, Deputies were notified about a shooting that had happened at a home in the 300 block of Fisher Road outside of Mabton that left two people with gunshot wounds.

Investigators say there had been a large party at the home where the shooting happened at about 3:00 a.m.

One gunshot victim was taken to Prosser Community Hospital with several gunshot wounds to the torso. Marco Fuentes, 18, from Sunnyside, died from his injuries. A second patient was taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital where he is being treated for a gunshot wound that deputies describe as not-life-threatening.

Detectives with the Yakima County Sheriff’s have been interviewing several people were at the home when the shooting happened. So far, no suspect has been identified, and deputies haven't said what led to the shooting, though they say they haven't yet determined a motive for the shooting.
