No one hurt after train collides into truck

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A train crashed into a pick-up truck near Hover Park in Benton County Wednesday afternoon.

Lt. Jason Erickson with the Benton County Sheriff's Office says two young men had been riding dirt bikes on the east side of the train tracks, and loaded up the bikes in the back of a truck to move to the west of the tracks. The paid tried driving over the tracks at an area that wasn't intended for crossing.

The truck got high-centered shortly before a train started to approach shortly after 12:30 p.m.

The men bailed out of the truck before the train struck it and dragged it nearly 200 yards down the tracks.

Neither man was hurt, and the train engineer is okay.

BNSF is helping with the investigation.
