RICHLAND, Wash. – Students at Washington State University's Richland campus will have access to thousands of disposable masks thanks to a recent donation from a local food processing company.

Lamb Weston donated 20,000 disposable masks for students and employees at Washington State University Tri-Cities to use when in-person classes resume this fall.

“We are incredibly grateful to Lamb Weston for their generous gift, especially during this uncertain time where face coverings are so important in keeping our students and general campus community safe,” said Jaime Heppler, WSU Tri-Cities executive director for advancement and community engagement. “Resources are tight amid COVID-19, so this gift goes a long way in ensuring a safe start to the semester.”

Anyone entering the campus will be required to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as wearing face coverings, social distancing, and utilizing sanitization practices for hands and surfaces.

The school is also expected to deliver courses through a hybrid of in-person and online learning options.
