KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Kennewick School District plans to close its administrative offices starting Friday, March 20 due to community concerns about the spread of COVID-19.

The public will not be allowed to access the building through at least April 3, 2020. District staff will continue conducting business primarily through telephone and email. In some situations, in-person appointments may be scheduled, in accordance with current social distancing guidelines.

School building offices will be closed the week of March 23-27, except by appointment.

The Kennewick School District Board of Directors met in an emergency session Wednesday night and unanimously passed a resolution that temporarily suspends board policies in order to implement any guidance from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) relating to containing COVID-19 for the duration of the governor’s school closure order. The resolution indicates that the superintendent will continue to consult the board on guidance by OSPI during this time.
