Firefighters put out a fire that significantly damaged a home undergoing a remodel.

The Kennewick Fire department says flames were seen from the front and side of the home off of the 3900 block of South Zillah street early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters say it threatened the neighbor’s house because the flames were hitting the siding and the roof, but they were able to keep the fire from spreading.

Crews say they attacked the flames with the help of several fire departments including Pasco and Benton County #1 Fire district.

Since the house was under a remodel, no one was home at the time.

Investigators plan to be back at the home Tuesday to look for the cause of the fire.
