FFA students at two Kennewick high schools high schools will have a variety of bedding plants, vegetable starts, hanging baskets, and other items available at their annual spring plant sales starting April 28.

Selling the plants is the final step in agricultural courses at Kennewick and Kamiakin High Schools, after the groups worked to grow and tend to the plants.

Prices and plant availability varies between the two schools, with students deciding what to grow, and how much to charge.

Kennewick High will have 4-inch and 5-inch bedding plants, including Creeping Charlie and geraniums, for $2.50 to $4.50 each. Six-pack plants, such as petunias and marigolds, are $3. A variety of hanging baskets available for $22.

Kamiakin has hanging baskets for $18 to $20. Students are selling a variety of starts as well, starting at $1.50, as well as specialty planted items that can cost up to $35. Some metal art will also be for sale.
