Kennewick, WASH- On a 4-to-2 vote, the Kennewick City Council approved the recommendation of the city's Ethics Officer to reprimand councilman John Trumbo.

The complaint noted that Trumbo called a woman over the phone who purchased the former home of State Senator Sharon Brown and asked her questions about it.

"Had this been Mr. Trumbo's first time doing this, implying that he is with the Kennewick City Council actually stating that, this has happened before", Kennewick mayor Don Britain said. "But, had this been the very first time, I would not support a reprimand, but this has happened before."

Trumbo argued the same ethics rules that were applied to Mayor Britain's complaint, which was ultimately dismissed, should apply to his. But changes made to the Code came after the Officer ruled on Trumbo's matter March 20th, and before the Britain ruling.
