Grant County officers say they are searching for a driver who they believe stole a motorcycle.

Officers say on Sunday around 10:30 a.m. a motorcyclist was noticed driving erratically on State Route 281 near north of George. The deputy gave chase and the pursuit reached speeds of 130 miles per hour. Officers lost track of the driver.

Later, a community member said they saw the motorcyclist drive into the Sunland Estates, just south of the Gorge Amphitheater. Deputies and the Washington State Patrol sealed off the entrance and exit roads before starting a 2 hour K-9 search. The motorcycle and the suspect were not found.

The motorcycle was later reported stolen from a home in Beverly. The motorcycle is described as a black Yamaha R1

Officers say the only description of the motorcyclist is a medium-build person wearing camouflage pants. Other features were covered by clothing or the driver’s helmet.
