OLYMPIA, Wash.-- Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announced Friday afternoon that he is issuing an order to close all public schools in the state in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In Friday's press conference, Inslee said schools will remain closed for six weeks, starting Tuesday, March 17th.

The Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland School Districts hold separate meetings Friday to establish contingency plans to continue providing nutrition services and other services for students.

The closure is expected to continue through April 24th, with classes expected to resume on Monday, April 27, 2020.
