KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Benton-Franklin Health District announced Monday that it will begin providing free drive-thru testing for COVID-19 starting Wednesday.

According to a press release, the health agency is opening up testing to anyone who wants to be tested, those with COVID-19 symptoms, and anyone who has been exposed to the virus.

You will need to make an appointment by calling 211 on a cellular or landline phone.

"We're able to expand testing now because we finally have adequate testing supplies," said Dr. Amy Person, Health Officer for Benton and Franklin Counties. "That's changed dramatically in the past few weeks. Previously, we had very limited supplies and we needed to make sure we prioritized testing to critical cases. Now we can do broader testing because we have more access to supplies."

The testing sites will be available Wednesday, June 17 through Saturday June 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Toyota Center in Kennewick and the HAPO Center (formerly known as the TRAC Center) in Pasco.

Starting Tuesday, June 23, the sites will be available Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., by appointment. No doctor's orders will be required, and the testing is free to all.
