Kennewick, WASH- As the applications for variance to move into Phase Two of re-opening is on pause for both Benton and Franklin counties…the Health District has teamed up with the Washington National Guard to offer drive-thru COVID-19 testing sites in Kennewick and Pasco.

"The number of tests being done per day is only one metric," Public Health Nurse Carla Prock says. "Our counties are currently only providing about one-tenth of the overall testing that the metric requires. So, this effort will help us increase that capacity so we can move closer to that metric."

Testing is offered free 8am-to-1pm from now through Saturday…then again next Tuesday through Saturday for the foreseeable future. To make an appointment, you need to call 2-1-1.

Prock adds that after the first day of taking appointments, the Benton-Franklin Health District was able to fill up two full days of appointment bookings.
