KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The drive thru COVID-19 testing site at the Toyota Center in Kennewick will close starting next week.

The Benton-Franklin Health District (BFHD) announced Thursday that all drive thru testing will now be done at the HAPO Center in Pasco.

"The decision to move all testing to the HAPO Center was necessary because one of the National Guard teams was reassigned to another location in the state," said Rick Dawson, Senior Manager for Surveillance and Investigation with BFHD.

The HAPO Center location will have a separate lane available for testing starting next week, accommodating up to 500 people each day, so the testing capacity remains the same even with the closure of the Toyota Center site.

The HAPO Center location is open Tuesday through Saturday 7am to 1pm.

The Toyota Center location will continue operating Friday and Saturday, 7am to 12pm.
