To remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, a group of community members is working to place wreaths on 3,100 veterans graves this December.

Karen Schultz with the Kennewick chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution says Wednesday night, July 19th, is a fundraiser to raise money so they can purchase those wreaths.

"They served their country with honor and we want to make sure we still remember them, we say their name when we place a wreath on their grave and honor their service to our country," says Schultz.

The fundraiser will be at Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Kennewick or Richland from 4-7 p.m. and all proceeds from food and drinks from the evening will go to the group. She adds the group needs around $30,000 to be able to purchase enough wreaths to cover all the graves at the cemetery.
