A body found dumped along I-82 in Yakima last July, has been identified as a 33-year old Toppenish man.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says they identified the body as Vicente Rodriguez-Carrillo. They say the man's family, who lives out of state, came forward asking for help looking for the victim several weeks after he was found dead.

Family say they had not had contact with Rodriguez-Carrillo since early July. Officers believe he had been living in Yakima for about a year before he was found dead.

Deputies say they obtained DNA samples from the out of state family and when compared to the DNA of the deceased, a laboratory was able to conclusively state that the deceased is Mr Rodriguez-Carrillo.

No arrests have been made in connection with his death. Detectives are still investigating how he ended up dead on the side of I-82 at the Fred Redmon Bridge. Anyone with information regarding the activities or associates of Rodriguez-Carrillo in the weeks and months leading to his death, your asked to call Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
