A 41-year-old Pasco man is behind bars after deputies say he stabbed a 23-year-old working alongside him in a Benton City vineyard.

Benton County Sheriff deputies say they were called to a vineyard near Benton City around 6:30 Wednesday morning. Deputies believe the two got into a fight over a girl and using pruning shears, the 41-year-old stabbed the other man, also from Pasco. Deputies say the two men knew each other through work and living in the same apartment complex in Pasco.

Deputies say the 23-year-old suffered from non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is now booked on assault charges and deputies say he could face more charges in the future.
