A hand-recount started Thursday morning for the Franklin County Commissioner Two seat, separated by only 29 votes between Bob Koch and Rocky Mullen.

Jeff Burckhard with the Franklin County Auditor Office says the over 25,000 ballots have to be counted, and that makes it the largest recount the county has ever had to do.

"The number of votes separating the candidates was under 1,000 votes and under one quarter of one percent separated the two candidates, which state law requires that we do a hand recount of all ballots," says Burckhard.

The recount has to be complete by this weekend, but Burckhard expects they will finished up Friday.

Currently as the numbers sit, Bob Koch leads the race by 48.8% to Rocky Mullen's 48.7%.
