PASCO, Wash.-- Friday is National Kitten Day… Friday is National Kitten Day… and there are plenty of kittens up for adoption at the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter.

Many of the kittens are already altered and ready to take home, others are ready to be altered. The kittens also come with their first set of shots, and are micro-chipped.

Animal advocates say it's important to remember that adopting a pet is a long-term commitment.

"It's a big decision to take home a pet because some people are between jobs, or living in an apartment," said Deb Sporcich with the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter in Pasco. "Just make that commitment that no matter where you move, no matter how your life changes-- they're going to live for the next 15 to 20 years easy if you take good care of them."

If you're interested in adopting a kitten, it's $75 for one, $100 for two.

You can find photos of the adoptable pets and find more information on the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter website.

The shelter in Pasco is open Friday and Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
