A 45-year-old, suspected of stealing credit card information and using it across the southeastern Washington region, is now behind bars.

Kennewick police say officers in Richland identified and arrested Shaun Bailey from Mountlake Terrace, WA, Tuesday as he was leaving a store.. Officers say a Walmart LP recognized Bailey and called police directly. Police responded to the store and caught Bailey just as he was leaving. After a coordinated investigation, Bailey was booked into jail for several counts of Identity Theft.

Richland police say Bailey reportedly used stolen credit information at numerous Walmart stores in Hermiston, Pendleton, Tri-Cities, Lower Valley, Yakima, Bonney Lake, Puyallup, Seattle and Everett. They believe there are at least 50 victims and potentially as many as 100 or more.

It is believed he was taking credit card information from gas skimmers.

Those in the community are still urged to keep an eye on their bank accounts for fraudulent activity.
