Yakima County deputies rescued two people stranded on a small island in the middle of Bumping Lake in Mount Rainier National Park.

Deputies say the 56-year-old and 18-year-old lost their canoe and believe it got carried away by the current when they were not looking.  The two were stranded around 5:00 p.m. and had tried to swim to shore but could not make it.

Luckily, around 2:00 a.m. a text that said "Help" went through to a family member's phone, who then notified deputies. With the help of family members and using the lake store owner's boat, the deputies were able to rescue the two men.

Besides getting drenched from the rain, the two were in good health.
