34-year-old Wilson Creek man killed after truck drove off 200 foot cliff

A 34-year-old man from Wilson Creek was killed in a one-car crash east of Soap Lake.

Grant County deputies say Benjamin McAfee was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup east on Road 22-Northeast, known by locals as Lower Marlin Road, when the truck left the road and plunged down a 200 foot cliff.

McAfee was thrown from the truck and died at the scene. Responders from Grant County fire districts 12 and 5 recovered McAfee’s remains, which are now in the care of Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison whose staff will perform an autopsy.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office Motor Traffic Unit is investigating.
