Got Drugs?

That's the slogan the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is using in hopes to gain the communities attention and have them take part in Saturday's "Take Back Day."

Every day 79 people in the U.S. die from opioid abuse according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. DEA officials say many of the drugs can be found in your bathroom cabinets.

"Just leaving unwanted medications around is risky, they can fall in the hands of adolescents, or in the hands of people who may use them even though they are not prescribed to them," says Keith Weis with the Seattle Division of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Over the past 10-annual Take Back Day events, Washington alone collected 19 1/2 tons of prescription drugs.

On Saturday, April 30, 2016, there will be 89 collection sites throughout the state of Washington open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. Here is a link to find a drop-off location closest to you.
