A dog found in a trash can and left to die, has found a new home. The Pet Medical Center says they picked a family from Kennewick to take home the chihuahua Ava (also known by the name Meia).

She will go home with her new family in a week after she is spayed.

The medical center says they were looking for a special home that will be able to support her emotional and physical needs.

Police are still looking for the person responsible for wrapping the dog in duct tape and plastic bags before tossing her in a trash can at a Pasco car wash a month ago.
