Every Food truck is adding a fresh local item to its menu next Friday.

Pasco officials say they have partnered with Washington Asparagus Commission and will offer the produce in one food choice at every eatery taking part in Food Truck Friday.

The asparagus is grown within 60 miles of Downtown Pasco throughout the month of May.

Essentially at the end of the month the group will determine which mobile vendor offers the most flavorful, creative menu item. They will be judged by a panel of civic leaders, media and growers.

In a statement Marilou Shea, Director of Pasco Specialty Kitchen and the program's creator, said "I think Food Truck Friday fans will be blown away by the ways fresh asparagus can be incorporated into a wrap, a burger and even baked goods. We hope people will come ready to experience new flavors, support our local growers and local small businesses at the same time."
The menu items are being kept secret but will be offered May 6th to May 27th.
